Bamburi Rugby Series - Match Day 1 Results

SDV Transami Cheetahs 52 Lions 17 UAP Rhinos 61 Mumias Sugar Buffaloes 0 Nguvu Sharks 79 M Bank Twigas 0.

Lopsided Day 1. Is the Super Series losing its competitiveness? Do we really have the top 240 players in East Africa? Do we have 240 players in East Africa capable of playing at this level? Is the tournament structure skewed?

Is this what we've been waiting for? One sided games? Hopefully it is just a problem of players bonding and adjusting to new coaches and we'll see more competitive games next weekend.

Watch out for the Ugandan franchises. They have named 2 strong franchises this year

With a good number of sure starting players out injured before the series starts I wonder how competitive the Ugandan franchises will be.

Now that the RFUEA grounds has been closed because of Safari Sevens. Where are the matches going to be? And does this mean that Safari Sevens is our only priority.

Odong (Prop), Mubiru (hooker), Echullu (Prop), Soita (lock) and Anguyo (lock) - that's the entire starting tight 5 out injured. Nsubuga (scrumhalf), Etuket (winger) - those are 2 starting line players injured. In other words, half the starting team is out for today's clash. Victoria has fared better with injuries to only 1 starting player (Timothy Mudoola at centre) and to a couple of bench players. Victoria should win this clash.
