Kenya Team for Victoria Opener Named

Coach Michael "Tank" Otieno and his technical team have named the side to face Zimbabwe in the opening match of the Victoria Cup on Saturday. Several players who were in action for Shujaa over the weekend in the Safaricom Sevens have been included. Only Ben Nyambu from the victorious Kenya squad is in the side. Suffice to say the players need their rest, and I hope the technical team will build up from this game and not go into a panic and start chopping and changing as has been their norm.

The Squad
1. Daniel Kiptoo (Quins),
2. Vincent Ongera (Quins),
3. Joel Ng'anga (Quins),
4. Wilson K'Opondo (Machine),
5. Michael Aung (Nondies, Vice Captain),
6. Ben Nyambu (Nondies),
7. David Mogere (Quins),
8. Paul Oimbo (Impala),
9. Peter Mutai (KCB),
10. Nato Simiyu (Impala),
11. Peter Abuoga (Quins),
12. Patrice Agunda (Quins),
13. Innocent Simiyu (Impala, Captain),
14. Victor Sudi (Quins),
15. Vincent Mose (Impala),
16. Edwin Alubaka (KCB),
17. Nzioka Muema (Impala),
18. Tony Mutai (Quins),
19. Andrew Amonde (KCB),

as things should be, quins! has the best players and so they should dominate the team

I agree with anonymous 421am (weird hour, must a quins night runner)Quins dominated every 15s tournament and deserve the numbers. They did it in kenya cup and super series putting Impala in there place on both occasions. I wish the same could be said about 7s the champions who dont even have a single guy even in shuja.

lol i was from the pub and was bored, anyway i hope this is the beginning of good things for the 15s side, though i think we may be lacking a bit on the strength side especially with the forwards and this is something that should be worked on by the coaching team if we intend to take the next step, flyhalf is also an obvious weakness with a very average player esp in defence

average, those are some pretty harsh words if the selected backrow does its work effeciently then why would you need a tackling flyhalf? perfect case of wilkinson and charlie hodgson,1 tackles so hard so as to hide his in adequacies as a flyhalf while the other-hodgson imaculately lets his backs free.his weakness stems from a weak mind frame but with his brothers by his side this will be a super team unlike no other.

good team on paper but the management should do more to consider the younger talents coming through the likes of dennis karani, jeffojwach ,jake kamau in the fowards with RWC at 2015 the back of their minds

nato is the best flyhalf in the country no doubt .show me a tackling flyhalf in kenya?strong defense is nt a major requirement 4 a flyhalf look at Quade cooper, matt giteau, ruan piennar, sexton etc

i dont consider those great flyhalfs, and when have you seen matt giteau, wilkinson, carter of even morne steyn miss tackles even when they have monster forwards running at them, its the channel most attacked by decent teams
