While our beloved Mean Machine stares relegation in the face another
battle pitting Machine Old Boys is playing itself out in the name of
Rubgy Awards.
Two awards dinners are set for this month. One by KRFU and the other
by popular fans initiative 'Ministry of Rugby'.
KRFU General Manager Auka Gecheo is leading the 'official' awards
while the 'unofficial' awards are ochestered by Thomas Arigi the self
styled 'Minister'. Arigi is supported by long term student activist
and now corporate Tony Onyango and another old boy Maddi Yaya.
The General Manager has the usual backing of the Chairman Omwela and
part of the Board.
What is interesting is the KRFU awards seem to be a knee jerk reaction
to Arigi's awards which seem to have caught them flatfooted. All these
old boys were good comrades till recently. Where and when they fell
out is not known.
Well the good thing is Machine is in the limelight though wishfully it
should be on the rugger pitch where we are shining.
So we are split between the Ministry of Rugby and the KRFU. Why not
combine both so we can all attend?
38 Comments:
if u attend important stakeholder forums like teh AGM, Action Plan etc for teh union, u will notice the annual ball and awards were in that plan as early as november last year.
Arigi is all about making cash from rugby and not caring about rugby. now that gusy are discovering him including players, things are falling.
if they are sooooo good at what they do, then why not do it for machine which is falling apart and facing relegation....
Not a fan of the union but Arigi and Co. are just milking rugby for personal gains. Their "fanatic" following has been reduced to a drinking group, a group for dundain and nyanduanaing....
I here the sexercise is too much. i wont want the young rugby generation of players and fans to be involved with such a group of people. And us associating with them as a rugby fraternity is paramount to cementing our support of their ills in the cover of supporting rugby. this people are always seen in bars and all other places where vice is the dresscode.
We should be careful of the monster we are creating by out support as if anything goes wrong or they do something against society that corrupts out children who is going to be held accountable....who? Arigi????
Rugby in Kenya is under KRU. whether they do a good job or not. And KRU is made up of clubs. Why not support within the structures???
And if you look with your brain, all these people involved actively in this diabolical group are grown ups living a lie, living the age 20-24yrs, they have refused to let go of the vices of campus life.
Be-careful Rugby lovers for a nefarious group is at our door steps.
i read somewhere on this blog that tonyango is the bitterest man in kenya rugby. i just wonder why. he didnt play the game meaningfully so that he can claim "those funny guys are wrecking our game". 2nd team bench eschuma on that very, very rare occasion.
and don't get me started on arigi. totally mannerless guy trying to make such an art form. u must have seen his video with another equally mannerless woman harassing a ref in mombasa during driftwood. what about game ethos arigi? anyway how would you know when you never played meaningfully, as well. ministry of rugby, full of rugby wannabes!
KRU have resorted to Mad slinging.
it's not KRU that said our commonwealth rugby players look like marathon runners, NKT!
very hard to call it mad slinging because of facts. Lets look at all their events...
1. Is excessive alcohol consumption part of it.
2. Is Bangi in the cover of cookies part of it
3. Is misbehavior and letting loose part of it.
Lets go to their Facebook pages..look at all the photos of their events and conclude if this is what we want rugby to be associated with. Remember rugby is a family spot in Kenya now.
I support prophet, as i honestly think this awards are more of spoiling the image of rugby than creating it.
Prophet = Ukweli wa Mambo = Makingscheme = Anonymous = GM.
Don't think we are stupid.
I see some truth here, why hold awards in bar....
Arigi should have stuck to selling tshirts, once you go political then your foundation is chambuliwad.
Wazi, anonymous 2, When 7s is playing well they are the number one fans, when it cracks they start madvibing, ati players look like marathon runners, union is failing us, Benja should go, fire tank groups, meanwhile they dont do anything to support rugby structures.. Kenyans who support Man U, Gor and other teams, when they complain of performance its worth listening to them as atleast the jerseys they buy contribute to revenues for the team. Have you ever seen Arigi, Tony, or any fanatic with a Kenya 7s replica shirt..........
I dont know why they want to compete with union and they dont help rugby in Kenya. The profit they make for the dinner goes where? to who? No wonder i heard KRU and players are not attending.
hiyo ni platform ya mnyandix and iam not contributing for peoples pleasure, mimi siendi.
@Ukweli wa mambo
That equally mannerless woman is it Milly???????
ministry of rugby is full of rugby groupies...tunawajua we cu @ the club houzes everywknd...
Monstrosity of Rugby!!!!
Tonyango...
Arigi...
Madi...
Milly...
Yes..they like rugby...dont care about rugby...
Oh!!... kumbe wanachanga pesa ya kuenda Dubai na George.
Kuenda kudunda na kuuza matisho hazituhelp...
Wacha nikisalimia MJ Laico.
ne•far•i•ous - Adjective: (of an action or activity) Wicked or criminal: "the nefarious activities of the organized-crime syndicates"
Kenya 7s replica shirt.........
ministry of rugby is full of rugby groupies...tunawajua we cu @ the club houzes everywknd...
Wow this is very strong words for people who are not going. For people who don’t care you seem to have a lot of bitterness towards the second awards.
Lets look at it critically, has the KRU approached the ministry and looked for a collaboration, KRU being the bigger picture here should embrace any fan club that wants to increase the popularity of this lovely game.
This guys complaining that they see the ministry peeps in the club houses every weekend, kuna shida gani, them being there does it reduce the level of oxygen in the air or even the number of teeth in your mouth, Most rugby players are junior with limited spending capacity so if someone comes to my club n increases the sales revenue of the club bar welcome.
Kenya 7's replica, for the chosen few, just the other day that’s when they were being sold on Face book. KRU has an office on Ngong Road every weekend they have at least a game there, why don’t they have a gift shop n sell this t-shirts, if there is a need and you don’t fill it someone will do it for you,
So what i can say the competition for our affection from KRU and Ministry of Rugby will only serve to make the game better for us. See what zain did with the 3 bob 1 bob issue.
Lets argue about constructive things, come up with ideas on what you want the ministry to do with their profits (if any) for rugby don’t be part of the problem be part of the solution. And don’t personalize the issue,
hahahahaha Msanii ati since Wetangula has sold embassy on m-pesa let Kibaki colabarate with him to legalise the deal. hahahahahahahhahahahaaaaa
u must be a beneficiary .....
What money has been stolen here?
1. Ministry has a fan base, KRU wants a fan base to pull in sponsors
2. Ministry gets money from sales of Tshirt, KRU has for long ignored the fan's request for affordable and readily available Tshirts,
3. Ministry has a game plan, So does KRU
Lets give credit where its due, give the devil his due,
Oh how i wish wangenisambazia @ anon 6.10pm LOL
arigi just happens to have seen a need and fulfilled it. Now im a rugby fun and i drink my own money how i choose to spend it non of anyones biz but this krfu guys where do they take rugby money? Can they provide the balance sheets for auditing? Kq gave u guys a hundred tickets where are they? Where are the jerseys being sold or are we havin another rayy oruo attack?
Its really frustrating that it has gotten to this point.@anon 12.48pm says Arigi saw a need and fulfilled i agree 100% I cannot count the number of times i have gone to the union office to ask where i can get a t shirt and what do i get NOTHING!!!As for the other person talking about groupies whats ur problem. Are they drinking ur money. Some of u forget that its those "groupies" money that pays for ur uniforms and transport to games. So my two cents are stop hating on the fans who have helped who without YOU would be nowhere. Secondly competition is healthy. If the awards for the union were in the pipeline since last year why the knee jerk reaction to Eliptics. If you are a reasonable person u would ask yourself these questions? Ministry of rugby had a community service day at Barnados children home is that not a way of giving back. And for the "reasonable" person who says that money is being raised for George sevens, Trust that if fanatics want to travel they do not resort to such tactics. They are people who earn a living. @ anon 12.26pm nov 12 u have mentioned specif names man up and let us know who u are cause clearly u seem to be bitter with the four individuals sort it personally and stop trying to spoil the good game of rugby that we all love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Welcome into the debate Ministry of rugby..Clearly you guys have come out but haven't answered anything.
Talking of after thought, the ministry of rugby community service and recent campaign of having a players union came after wide public and union questions on MOR foundation, purpose and ill motives. You guys did that just to funika guys macho.
@Msani..you have your basics wrong, clearly you have been brainwashed by you nefarious group members, its the Ministry (MOR) that is a parasite, feeding on the hardwork of the union and players. How and in what ways have the MOR contributed in the administration, organization, running and raising of resources for rugby in Kenya...
Do you want to tell me if MOR shuts down today fans wil go..what you guys have done is just parasite on KRU fans and offer them anasa which we as a rugby fraternity dont want rugby in Kenya to be associated with. (Excessive drinking and Cookies with Bangi as an ingredient)
For you guys to question where does KRU take its money further cements you status to rugby in Kenya, if you were within the structures you will know that every year in the AGM KRU presents audited accounts.
Now, the story of you guys who are unaudited raising funds to go to Dubai and George came from MOR senior member boosting in a night club in nairobi...
the issue of KQ tickets again further cements your position in rugby. Do you know they were for 15s team and used for 15s team and some for 7s players.....
Tops are sold at the union and we all know.
Msanii i think you are one stupid guy and if you are the brain behind MOR, then i understand now, the daylight robbery and capitalization of resources you did not create nor do you service.
You guys are just fans of rugby like any other fan...only difference is that you decided to form a fake product and sell..ie. Puma-Duma, Nike- Nyke, Addidas- Addibas.
If Arigi saw their being a potential market that is untapped, then he should suggest to the union, not exploit it, thats wrong...if you you saw the that their is potential in Safaricom issuing Bamba ksh1 bob, Do you now start creating scratch cards....
Rugby is the unions core business and the Kenya sevens is one of its product not Ministry..You guys are just thieves.
And of-course if you make money from this illegal money and drink it or use it to go to Dubai that doesn't count as your money.. thats the union=Clubs=players money.
There is no difference between what the chinese do, the guys in Kenya who produce fake Kenya rugby replica shirts and Ministry of rugby.
lets be clear. KRU started doing merchandise, Arigi came to KRU to outsource it to him. KRU agreed and signed contracts with him and chabeda (Friends of Rugby Initiative). His initial capital and guys who paid for the merchandise were as a result of introduction letters written by KRU. Arigi collected money, made shirts, sold and has been chengaing KRU since. KRU has given him enough time to respond and are now goign to act as per terms of the contract they had signed with him and chabeda.
as for tickets and accounts, clearly, it shows ur a groopie with no idea what is going on in the game.
All merchandise has been outsourced to teh rugby shop and KQ ticket sales offices. go there u will get them. soon they will be at all nakumatt outlets.
"Msanii i think you are one stupid guy and if you are the brain behind MOR, then i understand now, the daylight robbery and capitalization of resources you did not create nor do you service"
SO IS THAT THE REASON KRU TRIED TO KILL THE FLOODLIGHT FRIDAY GAME ORGANIZED BY DAN WEKU, INSTEAD OF SUPPORTING THE PEOPLE, ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS EAT, THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE DINOSAURS IN THE UNION PRETENDING TO STILL BE RELEVANT TO THE CAUSE
"what you guys have done is just parasite on KRU fans and offer them anasa which we as a rugby fraternity dont want rugby in Kenya to be associated with. (Excessive drinking and Cookies with Bangi as an ingredient)"
DRINKING IS A PERSONAL CHOICE, NOT EVERY ONE WHO GOES FOR RUGBY DRINKS, PS TO STOP DRINKING THEN KRU SHOULD BURN ALL THE BARS IN THE RUGBY EVENT, AMA THEY SELL ALCOHOL AFTER 8PM IN ALL GAMES IF U PEOPLE ARE SERIOUS IN YOUR CAUSE, STOP BEING A HYPOCRATE, IN NONDIES THE MAIN BUSINESS IS THE BAR, WITH ALL THE EMPLOYED PLAYERS CONTRIBUTING TO BUY THE TEAMS BEER, ISN'T IT THE WAY YOU SWEETEN THE PLAYERS DEAL. PLEASE REMOVE THE LOG FROM YOUR EYE BEFORE REMOVING THE SPECK FROM MOR.
PS BANG IN COOKIES, WHERE IS YOUR EVIDENCE......
Ps am a chic.......... yes we too have a say in this sport
@Msani Wa ukweli,
Please note the word EXCESSIVE before drinking.
KRU is incharge of all rugby activities in Kenya. its been given this mandate by IRB. You are still not challenging the point.
That tournament, is it part of the fixtures?
Do you know under IRB laws all players are registered under Union to play rugby.
Do you know that it was interfering with union fixtures and for you to have a sanctioned tournament it must be done before the years fixtures are out?
Do you know the process of having your tournament sanctioned?
BUT I BET IF HE WAS ONE OF YOU, YOU WOULD HAVE JUSTIFIED IT AWAY,
Kindly educate us oh wise one, IRB could have given u the mandate but each country tailor makes it to suit them.
Can KRU stop being ridged and work with people to build this game, you are a big organisation n should not be affected by a small bunch of nefarious,
Or are you scared now that you see they might be a threat, are they a threat to you?
If Arigi did not honor your contract then by all means take him to court for breach of contract, wacha siasa mingi make it legal
people i think we should all take a chill pill and relax u should ask both organizers what they are all abt its wrong for people to make comments under cover if u have a bone to grind with an individual please go to them and have it out this is total bollocks
@anon. 1.53pm
Why are assuming we speaking for KRU,
We just part of the structures and are tired of these parasites.
The truth cannot be bullocks, so please have some respect.
auka gecheo mapengo does nothing for the union. a class 8 graduate can do the same work he does which is facebook siku nzima
@ukweli wa mambo....dont forget Auka just drinks black ice in addition and wants to live the lifestyles of the folks next door. Check the photos on FB. Go get your own friends man. Wacha kujipox na ma manzi wa wengine. Stick to your sugar mummy.Nktest.
so why did all the big clubs forbid their players from playing that tournament?
If KRU were against it, it would have taken off. KRU by-laws give conditions to hold tournaments, fullfil them and you go ahead with urs.
participation is up to clubs and individuals....
hi everyone i certainly dint know about the second awards gala being held by the elliptics. Its sounds like its the appropriate dinner for the common rugby fan, because clearly the awards being done by KRFU seems like they are targeting corporates! who in his/her sane mind would go for a dinner costing 3,500 Ksh as an individual? this amount is just outragious. Please som1 RSVP me that elliptics dinner.

just log on to www.ministryofrugby.com seek out Arigi, Tonyango, AMillie18, or Katini n they will sort you out with a ticket. only 14 slots left.
Hmmmmmmmm ; SOUR GRAPES AND BITTER SALIVA !! Arigi and Tonyango found a niche which you KRFU Buggers obviously did not see as you are busy kulaing players' chumz .DO NOT RAIN ON M.O.R's Parade and fix yours instead !! Good grief !! And everyone has Sex so I will sexercise my right IT IS MINE !! NONSENSE !!
I can tell you one thing, if KACC was to do thorough audit of KRU, you guys will be shocked. Arigi & Co. have been rugby fanatics from early 90s and attracted crowds of fans. KRU on the other end is like a 'cartel for the chosen few/high class wannabes' who are more concerned on how to spend less on rugby development and split the rest amongst themselves.
MOR had a vision, so what's wrong with them making money out of t-shirts sells of which some of it goes back to the community? Kwani you wanted them to give whatever they collects to KRU? They can spend it however they want to on rugby development. Does KRU cover the expenses, when MOR does the t-shirts?
A guy used Bamba 1 bob example. If you have a Bamba 1bob idea you implement it so that fools who didn't want to implement it in the first place will have to follow suit. MOR organized an Award Gala but funy enough you guys are acting like they run the Kenya 7s/15s team. Guilty ones are always afraid of the unknown.
What we do in clubs/bar at our own time as long as its not related to rugby shouldnt bother you. I mean there are KRU official who are sex parasite feeding on girls the age of their daughters. i would rather 'sexercise' with a gal my age than be a baba feasting on a 16 year old.
Look around and see how many people wear MOR tshirts. Numbers dont lie, and from the language been used to condemn Arigi & Co, all these is just a bunch of pissed off MOR haters unleashing bile. Instead of using such, go back to the AGMs and strategize a comeback. if you cant then all I can say is sit back hate, as MOR continues to make gains in the rugby circle. Rugby Damu
What if we do an audit of MOR?
exactly what do you expect to find in MoR Audits? those guys operate from fanatics donations. plus tshirt sales .. if you think their is so much monies in it why dont you pple step up the sale of the seven's replica tshirts.
STUPIDITY GALORE ; HATING ON MOR !! SI YOU DO AN AUDIT ON MOR IF YOU WANT SINCE YOU HAVE SO MUCH TIME TO WASTE INSTEAD OF COMING UP WITH NEW IDEAS TO SPICE UP THAT TIRED KRFU , YOOOOOSLESS ; BLARRREEE HELL !!
Infact where can I get that tshirt, fanatic all the way
log into ministryofrugby.com seek out arigi and make ur order.
