Congratulations to Kibera Youth for winning the first One Night Stand
Sevens Tournament hosted by Homeboyz RFC at Nyayo Stadium.
Kibera mainly composed of Mwamba beat a very competitive Homboyz in
the final. Homeboyz are using the tournament as preparations for their
debut at the Dubai Club Sevens. Kibera Youth went out with 80,000 in
prize money.
The more interesting fact is a good number of fans did turn up at the
venue which was well prepared. The organisers however forgot to put up
touch flags around the pitch. Players put up a good show under the
lights and Collins Injera, Horace Otieno and Dennis Mwanja were the
big name attractions.
KRFU did not sanction the games nor did their executive office turn up
to support the good idea by Homeboyz. Ironically the fixtures were
sent out from their office late in the day and their employee Mike
Mwanja was the Tournament Director.

Kudos
It was a great tournament and as they say, the game belongs to the clubs and the players and is facilitated by the refs.
Thats what happened on the day and all of us who were there had a great time.
Mwamba and KCB had players there and... they won their Kenya Cup matches.
Why don't homeboyz use this as their homeground when they get to Kenya Cup?
