Not much happening at the moment. All slow and quiet. Just interesting to note that the KRU Awards Dinner has been launched with nominees for awards in various categories. The timing of the awards may throw some people off-track as it covers the season that concluded with the fifteens international season in August. Thus some awards like Sevens team of the year and sevens coach of the year may be confusing as we have held a full sevens season!
Speaking of Sevens awards, the Western Union sponsored circuit and final day ensured we had awards for outstanding performances in various categories targeting specifically the sevens circuit. The fifteens awards are therefore hazy in covering both Kenya Cup and the International Fifteens season. Meaning people like top points scorer, top try scorer, MVP, etc. for Kenya Cup, supposed to be the premier rugby event in the country, will not be feted at any point in time! And perhaps goes to show just the seriousness with which we treat the Kenya Cup, supposed to be the bedrock of Rugby in Kenya.

Do have a good week.

Its a well known fact that the awards were a last minute thought to avoid the embarassment of a fan group having awards and the union not having any.
The ministry of rugby come up with their awards and then the union rush to do the same!
just a coincidence that the union awards were in the pipeline long before the ministry came up with theirs. this is solid information from a reliable source
haha! it was an after thought. If it was in the pipeline then it should have been done or announced before or immediately after the last season.
They announce it 8weeks into the next season.
Common, we are not Kids.
