IRB 7's George: Kenya in tough pool

Kenya are in Pool C of the IRB 7's George leg where they are placed
with New Zealand All Blacks, England and Russia. Innocent 'Namcos'
Simiyu is the new addition to the team as Peter Ocholla makes way.

Namcos will be a much required spark relieving captain Humphrey
Kayange who was overworked in Dubai. Leon Adongo could be useful as he
fits into the shoes of the missing Collins Injera.

Pool C: New Zealand, England, Kenya, Russia

Go Kenya Go.

adongo doesnt bring the same flair though, glad namcos is back, the team needs him

Agreed on Namcos, he'll definately break the gain line more than Och.

As for Leon vs Collo's flair, however, he is a real fighter with lots of speed. And he adds the physicality that's required in the current sevens game.

MinerData, we do this one today? I see us getting to the Bowl final this time. Qualifying for the main cup will be long shot given our current form, or lack of, but the experience gained last weekend will see us fight it out at the next level.

DataMiner.....here goes...we will lose to NZ & England.
Im not being pessimistic but I dont believe we have the technical prowess to handle these teams.
Russia will be interesting. They played very well in Dubai. If we dont hold up in defence we will be punished.I give this one to Russia too.
I will do tomorrow's predictions once I find out who we are playing.
All the same,I wish the boys well and I pray they prove me wrong!

@MinerData - also think we will lose to England and New Zealand. I give us half a chance against Russia if we just express ourselves. My views on Day 2 tomorrow after the draw as well.

current play on the telly in nz....why go for the break downs...why not swing the ball more...as miner-data said russia played well in dxb if they bring the same game they will surely take us down...i see another 43-0 nz

give this 7s job to Mitch and Cardo. Best 7s brains in our land!

So the chickens are coming home to roost.47-0 what a shame,it's clear tottis go-slow and speed coaches resignation confirm whatever rumours used to go around, without them Benja is a quack! There are many good qualified coaches in Kenya,I like Mojo/cardo combo.
Problem with thf team is Benja and that midget newt!

MinerData said...

Toti(Head Coach),Mitch(Deputy),Cardo(TM),Kim(Conditioning) - with this combo you have enuff expertise and knowledge to guide the team. They all command a respect from players countrywide and have shown they can nuture young talent into superstars.

This is sobatage.. a coup to remove Benja.

I want him fired but not at the cost of the team. Ethics???????

For once I agree with mamapima!

DataMiner, we will struggle to beat Portugal. It will be close if we win. If we progress we will definately not win the Bowl with USA and Russia in the way.
Shield it is.
More later!

DataMiner said...

@MinerData - my mind tells me the same, though my heart really wants us to win.. well back to the shield trophy it is!

MinerData said...

DataMiner - Namibia now. We will beat them but lose to USA or Zim in the final.
Our substitutes were poor. Did not add anything to the game.
I'm out!

Over reliance on the Kayange Brother's is Kenyas undoing. Furthermore, we need a new technical bench Ayimba and Osir it's about time that they hang up their boots.

I mean we are back to "amateur" level. 47 - 0 scoreline speaks for itslef.

I fear IRB might revoke Kenya's core status in the circuit given these piss poor performances. Why does Benja blame a young side/new players?

There were only two new players and surely blame can not fall on their shoulders. I hope we will have a full complement of players for the remaining legs, so we can determine whether its the new players or something more functional to blame.
