Kenya Name Tough Squad for Wellington

Kenya have named a stronger squad to tackle the third leg of the HSBC World Sevens Circuit in Wellington in slightly over ten days time. The perennial problem of unavailability has reared its head but the squad is much stronger than the one that took part in the first two legs.

The Squad comprises

1. Humphrey Kayange (Mwamba RFC- Captain)

2. Sidney Ashioya ( Kenya Harlequin FC)

3. Colins Injera (Mwamba RFC)

4. Biko Adema (Nondescript RUFC)

5. Leon Adongo (Kenya Harlequin FC)

6.Andrew Amonde (Kenya Commercial Bank)

7.Gibson Weru (Nakuru RFC)

8.Brian Nyikuli (Impala RFC)

9.Patrice Agunda (Kenya Harlequin FC)

10.Wilson K'Opondo (Kenya Harlequin FC)

11.Oscar Ouma (Nakuru RFC)

12. Peter Ocholla (Impala RFC)

13.Lawrence Buyachi (Impala RFC)

14. Lavin Asego (Mwamba RFC)

We wish them the best of luck.

Why is Gibson Weru still on this squad. He has been exposed as a defensive liability over and over again, especially so the last two tourneys. He is a pathetic excuse for a sweeper. He makes no tackles such that if an opposing player beats his man, they are almost guaranteed to score. Mambo ya selection ya urafiki has to end.
