Weekend Games

The fight for Kenya Cup continues though shaping out to be more interesting is the relegation battle. Here we go...

League leaders Harlequins host Mean Machine at RFUEA grounds, Kenya Commercial Bank are at home in Ruaraka to Strathmore, Nondies cross the railway line to Impala and Mwamba go to floor of the Rift Valley to face Nakuru.

Quins are on a roll and will whitewash Machine, despite struggling in the first game. Win by 20 points. KCB will also be superior to Strathmore, bonus point win for them. Nondies will be a pain to Impala, but after two tough games I don't see them holding out.. Impala by 15. Mwamba will definitely struggle against Nakuru... is there an upset in the offing? I think not. Mwamba by 8.

Do have a good weekend and do enjoy your rugby.

My predictions were poor last week. Maybe I was hoping for Quins to lose to excite the league, but none of that is happening.
Teams have failed to read them and counter what they have in store. In a nutshell, poor coaching of other clubs.
Quins vs Machine
This one I give to Quins. They will get their bonus. It wont be as flattering as they would like though.

Nondies vs Impala
Nondies have been playing well but seem to be in the losing habit. Again they have failed to kill off teams. Impala are in bad shape,on and off the pitch. Their title chase has become just that, a chase. Impala by 10. I smell them missing out on the bonus.
KCB vs Strath
KCB.....I really dont have to say more.
Nakuru vs Mwamba
This will be a fiery contest. I give this one to Nakuru. Mwamba tend to struggle when they visit the Rift Valley. Nakuru by more than 10.

The relegation battle wiil be even hotter after this weekend. You could easily see Machine scoring 4 tries after Quins take their foot off the gas. Strath will register no points as usual.

See you Monday rugby fans!

The formbook for the weekend is pretty stable, little chance of upsets. The games will go as follows

a) Quins vs Machine - Quins will win by quite a margin however showboating and laxity may allow Machine to score four tries and this claim a binus
b) Nondies vs Impala - Will be close but Nondies this season do not have the aggro to put away a side. Impala with a narrow win, just denying Nondies the losing bonus
c) KCB vs Strathmore - KCB will win this one with cricket scores. Strath will capitulate within the first quarter of the game
d) Nakuru vs Mwamba - Hard fought game, but this will be the 'big' scalp that Nakuru claim this season. Ridiculously low score

quins will definately run away with this one against machine, impala will punish nondies for there oversite on open play, kcb will beat strathmore and bag the point in the process. The real battle will go down in rift valley the game will go either way here. Paultheoctopus we need some help on this!

Here come my two cents:

1) Quins vs Machine: This will be an entertaining match, but Quins will run away with this one, including bonus. Quins by 20.

2) Nondies vs Impala: On this one I'll go with Nondies, hoping that some kind of spine has grown inside their white shirts. If the Nondies forwards come to the party with structure and with a little belief and concentration overall, Impala will not handle it. Nondies by 10.

3) KCB vs Strath: KCB by a wide margin. Boring game.

4) Nakuru vs Mwamba: This is a game worth traveling for. I see this going toe-to-toe for a while, but Nakuru will come to its senses and turn up the heat at the breakdown, denying Mwamba ball. Not really pretty, but effective. Nakuru by 5.
