Rugby action returns this weekend with the quarter finals of the Impala Floodlit Tournament. The shifting of dates of this event has seen the school's category knocked out technically and replaced with a university's one. In the main event, Nakuru take on Mwamba at 3.00 p.m. to be followed by Homeboyz against hosts Impala. Kenya Commercial Bank then handle Nondies before Harlequins wrap the day's events against Strathmore.
Interesting to see would be how Homeboyz hold up against Impala and may be a pointer to their potential for next season in the big leagues. I am not going to go into predictions today as I don't know how the teams have taken the tournament. Are they at full strength, trying out players, preparing for the super series, or... Maybe the franchise sides could have used this as a warm up come trials for the Rugby Super Series as the perennial complaint has been insufficient time to train as a franchise before the event kicks off.
And the National Sevens side plays in the Adelaide leg of the HSBC IRB World Sevens Series. We wish them a better performance than last weekend.
