I doubt Branchi would ever work with Mwangi's bunch of clowns. The whole of Mwangi's Kitchen Cabinet features people who have never played rugby anywhere - Telly (Terry) Adembesa, Myke Labaa (Rabar), Barbara Kokonya. Include Jack Okoth and Paul Okong'o and you have a bunch of no hopers trying to solve Kenya Rugby issues. I ask again, how did Kenya's serious rugby people get here?
Jack Okoth and Paul Okong'o played rugby but are a bunch of jokers. Mwangi wants to work as 'the big man' with people who have no time for such. How can I, a Patcharian, listen to someone from Nanyuki High, as concerns rugby. I would rather listen to a Changerian!
when is the SGM??? Mwangi is scared shitful about this coz members are waiting for him. Labaa got 1m from Kenya game for bringing in sponsorship. i wonder how much money omwela got for bringing in Safaricom, KQ, EABL, Bamburi and all other sponsors of the game. Judge shed some light
Judge got nothing and ensured nobdy else got anything, including the marketing consultants. Using relativity laws, Omwela was a Saint who just got bored of running rugby. This new style is just OUT!
Which rugby did Jack Okoth and Okongo ever play? What have they ever won so that the average rugby guy can listen to their rugby solutions? Or did they ever play test rugby? Which rugby schools did they come from? Come on! Let's get serious
do we remember the days there were Kenyans playing in hockey world select team? Do we remember when we made it to the semis of Cricket WC? Do we remember Kya soccer at all africa games or cup of nations?
etc etc
Those are memories.. Mwangi and his new team will only leave us with that, memories- and bad ones. Meanwhile they enrich themselves and leave the sport high and dry...
we gotta do something about that, we gotta act now...
Pipo, Mwangi and is cronies must not be allowed to mess the game we have passion for. This is not a PNU/ODM war as he tries make it. Rugby is a game of men played by gentlemen.
Terry and Rabarr not good for rugby. The game will be messed mara one.
Branchi should have stayed to fight for within. Sober guy. now its only puppets left on the Board. disappaointed about Nyamodi who has wekad mkia betwen the legs and joined its our time to eat bandwagon ...
If Judge never got the money, who did? KRU has consolidated revenues of 17Om as of DEC 2010. IRB gives about say 30m (incl 7s) who got the balance? was it chabeda?? or Sabwa?? OR Auka??
Mwangi may do all sorts of nonsensw (depending on where you are based) but ultimately, he will have only one main benchmark - how much incremental revenue did his office bring into the game? so far, he is at 2m (sorry, actually 1m coz Rabar was paid a commission of 1m). Once you bring money, you can do everything.
Of course, Judge brought alot of money into the game, starting with his own initially, when the game was struggling. The Safaricom deal was an Omwela masterpiece (maybe swansong?). One to one with MJ. Judge would never touch a commission. He also ensured nobody else took a commission on work he did. Judge, well done. Pity you couldn't find motivation to continue aggressively
I like Anon 2.05pm. There's only benchmark for any Chairman (do I hear Shareman? haha!) - How much MORE MONEY did you bring into the game? The rest are stories and shags politics.
Never heard of Jack Okoth or Paul Okongo playing rugby. What teams did they play for and what were their notable achievements.
The remaining individuals in the KRU secretariat suck!... when Muthee heard that 5 teams (Nondies, Impala, Quins, USIU and Nakuru) are considering doing a separate league, he is quoted as being unfaced and quoting his next plan to bring british teams into kenya... check out www.sporsnewsarena.com for details. An SGM is required to remove those that are killing this sport. When you bring in sponsorship, you dont give yourself KShs 1million (Homeboyz) to reward yourself when the money is meant to promote the game.. not your pockets. Rabar (or is it LAMBAR) - you ought to be ashamed of yourself!
Lets be honest, those clubs that want to break away, let them do so, its their right, we are here to see them, whether they will be in existence come 2013. since they are big clubs , they think everyone will running after their asses? There are many immature comments here, someone asking, which school did you go to, you could have gone to a national school playing rugby like patch and you are a poor man, can't even feed yourself. FYI, Jack played for Mwamba and.......(wait for this).......played for the national team. Paul Okong'o played for Kisumu RFC and has been pivotal in the lakeside rugby team performance. Muthee is doing fine, non reformers feel they no longer enjoy the elitism of rugby, they've stolen enough, ask Ollows, Auka, Sabwa and Omwela. All that money from IRB, where is development???. People are crying about Supersport but how has it been gainful to the KRU?? Let Rabar and Adembesa run the game, those of you who feel that you may call SGM to depose Shareman, go right ahead, will be there to shock you. I don't care of rugby will split into parallel leagues, the small clubs will have a chance at last as the big clubs will die imminent death after split especially with their Shenanigan politicians out to fleece Kenya rugby. what the previous board did was to legalize immorality, them carrying their girlfriends and clandes to overseas rugby trips using KRFU(then) money.
I do not buy the idea that one man, Mwangi, can cause 5 big teams to form a breakaway league. There are governance structures in place that the teams have at their disposal to get rid of Mwangi if they have genuine problems.
Elitisism is part of the under-current rearing it's ugly head in Kenya rugby. Even a couple of comments on this blog bring it out. Looking through the crystal ball I can already tell that the schools one went to and clubs one played for or has affiliation to will determine their side of the argument.
The real issues will be lost in the discussion.
Branco's resignation is not helped by the fact that Nondies is one of the teams in discussions of forming the break-away league.
that's jack writing. idiot! take them to court. no wonder he has never played any meaningful rugby. only the likes of siaya can listen to his rugby. no point of talking about okongo. no rugby brain. perhaps, no brain.
I hear salaries of KRU staff for July has now been delayed because the union is broke. Add to the fact that national team players who have not been paid their arrears both 7s and 15s. if mwangi cannot get money to pay player busfare (350 bob) a training for kenya teams, how can he fund all the kenya cup team to honour fixtures across the country in his expanded kc.
mwangi has said he is implementing the policies of the winners and therefore the guys on the other side are excluded (this guy never heard of magnanimity in victory) what does he expect. his guys (nyamo) has now forced quin to deny but reading the statement carefully, quins too are exploring their options (not unless mwangi again renews their ground lease and gives them the bar) let us see if he gets money without the backing of the big clubs. he can go market kisumu, siaya and other teams. btw, even kulabu is engaging actively with the big clubs - ask yourself why if you have brains
jack played for blad, quins and mwamba. then went to nazarene or daystar. a well travelled man with radical ideas. Okongo is a politician par excellence and the brains behind mwangi campaign (you be the judge whether that is a good thing). Oimbo and Nyakwaka are the other elements.
as i write, i remember moi's famous quote - a luo can be bought for 5,000 only. and we all know how mwangi campaigned. okongo has said its their time to eat, so let the big clubs be easy coz they have eaten. BUt what the fuck has okongo baked for him to eat??
Auka cannot even purport to represent clubs that he was attempting to finish while he was eating at the union as GM.
For one moment let us not even imagine Omwela is the answer. Omwela should never come back to rugby management again. Deal with him at your own peril. The man has no spine. Interested in taking demus on rugby tours only.
If it were where one played or if he really played or went to school, then tell me about Masiga, Salano or even Isaac Mwangi. Worse still Chabeda. Wacheni kuharass Jack no Okongo.
Muthee continue to expose them. Release the report the whle world knows walikula chapaa ya players.
Meanwhile Western Union have withdrawn sponsorship of the 7z circuit. Well in share who's next Bamburi? You bloody Monkey.
Auka kulad chumz, where what cah does that guy have? Atleast when he was there players got the allowance and even got bonuses. these clowns managing our rugby need to be kicked out soon or there will be nothing left of Kenyan Rugby.
I get the feeling that we are all on different pages here. To start with, to be a good manager you should not have played the sport (contrary to popular belief) we are either looking at the betterment of the sport or we are looking for friendships and stuff. We are always too eager to point fingers at people, if we are for the sport lets give solutions to the problems that we are facing dont say Mr x is our problem (yet you, voted him in) what is the answer to the problem we are having and please dont say bring in someone else.Dont get me wrong I am not defending anyone but i want to be told what it is exactly that one is accused of and what it is that they have done. Please have proof coz we cannot work on hear say, if mr X stole Y amount please have proof, hope people writing here are doing a splendid job at their work places to a point no one can give positive criticism.
The issue about what school one went to does not suffice, so what if I went to patch, maybe I never made first team and went to club and never made even the 3rd team does that mean my thoughts hold more water than that guy who went to nyeri high won proviz made it to natioz and first team at club in his first year won kenya cup but got transferred coz of work to a place with no rugby players? On his return though he has left a base of 100 players after 3 to 4 years. You who is busy throwing stones whats your input into the game? as opposed to using anonymous as your names put your real names seeing as you are the people with all the "answers". Swallow your pride and give solutions, I promise you swallowing your pride is not fatening.
the greatest service mwangi can do tot he game is to take auka, sabwa and others who stole to kacc. we need to surcharge them for the same and where possibe attach their assets. stop this McCarthyism style of - you stole, oh you are a communist - just to get pliant people on the board by removing emuye and nigga (coming soon)
Gentlemen. Judging people based on whether they played the sport or not is wrong. Rombo for example, who is arguably the best player we have ever produced has sided with the chairman and his rantings are at the very best embarrassing. Where are Changez and Patch in School rugby? Isnt the game now dominated by Mangu, Musingu etc- schools without any form of a 'rugby tradition?' Take a look at soccer where the likes of Roy Keane, Diego Maradona and Gianfranco Zola suck at coaching while the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Mourinho and the new Cheslea coach are the hottest coaching personalities? Star/ good players do not necessarily make good coaches! And instead of all these insinuations, why cant someone invite PLO Lumumba to invsetigate the KRU if the officials hhave been eating>
Nebuk. give us rugby examples! We dont give a damn what happens in soccer. The main thing is that the manager must intimately understand the environment they are managing. Understanding soccer very well doesnt mean you know a thing about rugby
There is something that is clear today - Mwangi Muthee must go. He has demonstrated his inability to understand the KRU constitution, the stake holders and the planning system for Kenya Cup.
We cannot have one individual mess up rugby big time. It doesnt help that he put Mitch Ocholla as coach before Mitch was ready - look how Kenya played 7s last two days. We came out with zero points, in addition to playing badly. Mitch has naively removed all experienced players which is a naive move to do. Any wise person knows - make some changes - but first study the existing guys and bring in others - slowly!
Lets gun for elections KRU elections to remove all the jokers - but only the jokers. Those who understand and are executing the mandate should be allowed to continue.
Meanwhile, Frank Sabwa would have managed this situation. Muthee must miss him..ha hahah!
Intersting arguments here-at least we are debating-so thats progress.Kenya got one point in the Gold Coast-for your information. The nonsense of the patch/changez is gone. How many Nationals have they won???Its always -Maseno,Yala-Kakamega winning on level playing fields-If you have the numbers bring the sgm and try get Mwangi Muthee out
That Old colonialistic nonsense of 'superiority" of quins, impala, nondies ,nakuru is long gone.Nondies were bottom of the league the other year ,but were not relegated.Impala lost 22-00 to Masinde Muliro at the Prinsloo Sevens, after talking loudly in the Friday edition of the Star newspaper, forgetting the game is played in the pitch. Then again teams like Kisumu and Machine were not promoted, the league was expanded. As far as we are concerned Patch and changez are social gatherings-where, a student, a school cook and the groundsmen are all in school uniform, albeit of different shades

During elections, it seemed anyone was better than omwela, obviously mistaken.
Mwangi out, Max Muniafu ndani!
