his biggest f-up is messing with supersport who have done nothing but try help the game grow by televising live matches which probably dont make them any money, no one subscribes to supersport so they can watch kenya play UG........be honest

mwangi will be fine once he settles and the big corporate guns get behind him (safaricom, kq, eabl and yes, supersport). once he learns how these bodies like to work and how different they are from mwamba and biomedica. however, he's a real rugby guy and if he gets smoother, and sorts out the hounds around him, rugby will definitely grow

the more the things change the more they keep on staying the same.
We all know that the people who are agitated with all muthee and his directors are doing, are the old guards who are now not happy watching some else call the shots and controlling issues they thought were under their grasps. Muthee is doing it his way . its too early to tell wheather its working or not. We are yet to see the contracts he promised the national teams players both VIIs and XVs .we are yetbut am

keep mwamba out of this discussion you moron ,deal with it hes the chair

mwangi is doing well just that the forces of impunity are fighting back ,supersport was a cash cow for a few officials and it will be exposed ,let someone show me how much we have gained from coverage like supersport have.

when is it being exposed? we are bored stiff of promises. just tell us who the forces of impunity are and how much they milked the cash cow. scatterbrain. no wonder mwamba cant win a meaningful rugby cup despite existing for millions of years

Mwangi is a 'normal' fronrow i.e. a tough, no-nonsense dude. Let's hope he doesn't do politics that way, but knowing him, I wouldn't hold my breath.

On the issues:
- Supersport: he needs to stop fighting them and instead re-negociate their terms with KRU. He should now insist on trickle-down of TV rights. Consider a crowd-puller like Quins vs Impala (or Mwamba). If marketed properly like Supersport knows how, the union as a whole, the clubs and players involved would get something substantial (monetary) out of it. Let's work on how to do this, as opposed to personalising issues and living in the past. He's the CURRENT chairman. Nobody cares what Omwela did in his tenure, esp since the good Judge did nothing illegal. Move on and create wealth for clubs and union instead.

- Corruption: as in all political offices, the ones who shout the most that they are fighting the evil of corruption are generally just trying to get into the 'eating' position. The only difference now is that he's being given no honeymoon, and guys want to take his seat 'too early' hahaha.

- Kenya Corporates: these guys fund and thus own sport. They came make rugby succeed or fail, whether we like it or not. They will pump in money as long as no unmanageable scandal is associated with the sport. It's all or nothing. He needs to keep his naughty children out of view (i.e. off the papers/radio/TV), not eat too shamelessly (esp. NOT their money).

- On Rugby (the Game played in Heaven): He should not forget the players whose blood and sweat (and a couple of body parts such as teeth) are strewn on pitches accross the country! Basic interests such as union-wide insurance coverage for all leagues and age groups should be #1 on his mind. Next is money in the pocket, at least for league games played *cough* TV rights *cough*.

Over to you Mr. Chairman, the above is doable in your next 100 days.

15s trophies are matope, 7s and 10s trophies are what matter, ask the players, it pays more to be in the 7s team, Kenya 15s is useless, and being the top Kenya 15s side worthless, Kenya 7s is world class and being the top 7s team in Kenya is to die for. Mwamba puts it's efforts where the money and glory is, look at their 7s and 10s trophy cabinet, that's why everyone hates them, no sponsor cares for 15s. Even ur watchman talks abt 7s not 15s!!! When 15s starts paying more, watch how mwamba will change focus, and win the trophies. Wajinyonge...... Hahahaha

if he cuts his ties with lambar who is just out to make money from kenya rugby like it has been said Mwangi is a rugby die hard who means well if he refines his style and engages in dialogue rather than fighting anybody slightly opposed to his views ,corporates luv them or hate them are the driving force of sports ,nobody wants brand exposure on Zuku , you spoke of transparency all you are doing now is having secret recruitments and one man decisions fighting elected officials either change or you will be the first chairman to serve 1 term

anon 9.27, spoken like the one and only village IDIOT! who cant win a 7s trophy? even USIU has a 7s trophy. the problem with idiots is that their standards are also typically low. be aware that going to the rugby world cup just once would mean much more money than many seasons of kenya 7s put together

Anonymous said...

Let the idiots continue focussing on beating nz sa au eng while the geniuses focus on beating Uganda and Cameroon. Kenya 15s standards in world rugby = India football standards in soccer........ Hahahahaha, the truth hurts

anon 9.27 that guy who called you a village idiot was polite.you can never compare tens and sevens to fifteens so please don't even dare.

Mwangi is good for the game, believe he makes a very good chairman. He is upto date with the management and players and is not aloof. However, he needs to trend carefully and get like minded directors to tow the line and make the game even bigger than it was previously.

Finally, our sevens team are no longer the world beaters they used to be, they are ordinary and have lost it.

Anon 9.27 you surely are a hopeless loser. Never heard of Money in 10-a-side, never ever.Rugby is 15s, not 7's only that Kenya Rugby hasnt had it right developing the game. 7s in Kenya is a one Month thing; and clearly since you are a Mwamba guy, why does the club exist? Take part in the League? BRSS? Floodies? Then tell your club to wind up the functions of the club after the Sponsorless 7's circuit. Lack of quality in Mwamba is what makes you negate the real rugby i.e. 15s. Yes Mwamba has great players in 7s team, but rugby is a team sport... Your mentality, if thats how mwamba players think, is the cause of the fall of 7s standards in Kenya 7s.
Fanatic

Chukua and the forty thieves....

Lets talk the truth.. Mike Lambar is bad for the sport.. how can he take 50% of sponsorship to improve the books of his loss making company??

Chukua wants to run for MP next yr, So his die hard passion for rugby is second to Parliament.

Terry the mascot, is a just a mascot. In for the money at the union and will hold the masters hand wherever he goes.

Rombo is just a rombo..can shoot himself to prove a point..

Ian falls under lambar, self interest.

Mwamba people, keep training at psys and skinny dipping, we will see whether your 3yr rain in a 1month tournament will be long, remember rugby like life is a marathon. To be a big club you must run the course, not sprint the first 400M of the 42KM and say you are the best...idiots.
